Paul Hawkes - Lead Pastor

Paul was born in Kisum, Kenya and then, for the next few years, raised around the world until settling in Canada. After high school he went to University of Saskatchewan, Regent College, and Trinity Evangical School.

 

Paul Hawkes came to Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church with his wife Kathy in November 2006. On most Sundays you'll find him up front, giving leadership to worship gatherings and preaching.  During the week you'll find him investing in the lives of people, studying the Scriptures, and in prayer.

Shawn Green - Worship & Arts

Shawn Green is thrilled to be part of the team at PFBC! He has a passion to see people worship God in spirit and in truth and with reckless abandon. He loves serving along side good hearted volunteers in a God honoring ministry.

 

Shawn was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and is a proud prairie boy and Flames fan, however he is happy to trade his snow shovel for an umbrella! Shawn graduated as a Vocal Major earning a BA in Music with a specialization in Church Music from Rocky Mountain College in Calgary.

 

In his spare time Shawn loves hanging out with his wife and being outdoors, and sitting down with a hot coffee and a good movie.

Jerrold Paetkau - Pastoral Care

Jerrold's role on the PFBC team allows him to interact with people in need, both from the church family and the Oceanside community. He draws upon six years of cross-cultural ministry, experience as a church planter, college theological instructor, and as a dad who is raising a large family. In these things he's able to find motivation, a greater sensitivity, and adaptability when providing help to people in need.

 

Jerrold says, "I love the church, and desire to encourage others in demonstrating God's grace to their world."

Dan King - Youth & Young Adults

Dan and his family moved to Parksville in 2008 to join the PFBC community and take the role of Pastor to Youth and Young Adults.

 

He grew up between the cities of Parksville (the island life) and Saskatoon, SK (the prairie life), but has to say that this location is much more conducive to riding his scooter, so he likes it better!!

 

In his spare time, Dan loves to spend time with Charlene, Jordan and Sierra (his family), throw house parties for his friends, and hit the turntables for some DJ'ing!!

Children's Ministry (interm staff)

Children’s Ministry at Parksville Baptist Church is committed to teaching and ministering to children from birth through fifth grade, and to their families.

 

Our desire is to guide children through Bible study and various activities to experience a personal relationship with God. We desire children to learn how God’s truth influences choices and actions.

 

Our programs take place during the Worship Encounter (morning) and Thirsty (evening) gatherings and are taught by dedicated, Christ-loving individuals. Come join us as we learn more about God together!
